1997 Mercedes Benz Xenon Headlamp Lenses
All
My car was recently vandalized with spray paint and as a result, I have had to remove the graffiti from the paint. The solvent used worked well on the metal but ate the headlight lenses. I have looked around (including the dealer) and I can find replacement lenses for the non xenon lights. The dealer tells me that these are not likely to work because of the temperatures of the xenon bulbs. They also look quite different. Does anyone know if Xenon lenses can be sourced without springing $1500 for the assembly? |
There is a plastic lens polish kit they sell for headlights. It was featured on Goss's Garage on Motorweek. He said you can get it from an auto parts store. Maybe that could polish your lenses.
This guy did a pretty thorough job: www.nseconsulting.com/bmw/hpt.pdf |
for the 1997 E420 MB part numbers 210-820-37-66 for the left & 210-820-38-66 for the right.
These are "euro" xENON lens & don't have DOT on them. Hella makes them...their numbers are L) 9AH 146 735-041 & R) 9AH 146 736-041 |
Thanks for the response, I contacted the dealer with the MB part numbers and they say it's not a good part number. I did Google both the Hella and the MB part numbers and it appears that the only sites that list them are Russian ones.
Do you have any idea where I can get these? |
Send me a PM or e-mail & I'll let you know.

Thanks for your help
