Trading Engines
I currently have a 1980 300 SD with 200k miles on the engine. The engine and transmission are in good shape, however the body of the car is not. I have the opportunity to purchase a 1981 300D which has a body/interior in excellent condition, but the engine is blown. I am wondering if it is possible to put the engine from the 300SD into the 300D with a minumum of modification..... ANy thoughts on the subject??
Thanks, James |

It will work, but you will have to swap a few things such as the oil filter housing and the engine mount arms.
