Engine miss,1994 500SL

I have a 1994 500SL that runs good when the engine is hot or cold, but sometimes when I stop for 15 to 30 minutes and start the engine again it will miss until I drive approx. 3 miles.
Any ideas ?
Thank you

Mileage?

Eugene, what kind of mileage is on the car? Has your ignition system been serviced before? (ie; caps, rotors, wires, etc.)

Thank you for the reply.
172,000 miles
The spark plugs and wires were just replaced.I don't know if the rotors or caps have been replaced although they were inspected at 160,000 miles.

I'd have them looked @ again as well as the wires.. Chances are they all need replacement.

When was the O2 changed last? Any codes pulled?

This problem existed before the plugs, wires and fuel filter were replaced. The next time I'm at the dealer I will have theme pull the codes.
Thank you for the reply.

gene, i have the same car, and had a similar skip. eventually the car just stopped after running perfectly. remove your air filter box and look closely at the wires going into the top of the injectors. i bet you'll find that they have cracked or even missing insulation. check the sensors on the cams and one of the temp sensors on the front of the block. these cars suffer from the dreaded harness rot, and if yours hasn't been changed, it will need it eventually. good luck. i haven't found any insulation issues "off the motor" so it must be the engine heat that finishes the insulation. i've heard it exists from '93-'95 cars. but hey, they promised us a MERCEDES BENZ right?

Thank you
I will check the wires.
