I am in need of technical assistance. I am about to place an order and want someone to look over it and let me know if I have all the right parts and quantities for a front brake overhaul. I also want to replace the front wheel bearings while I am there.

You will need at least a liter of HIGH quality DOT 4 brake fluid! Also think about removing the brake fluid reservoir & washing it out with ONLY brake fluid as well. If you do you will want the rubber mounting grommets for the reservoir!! Also you want to use hi temp/ HIGH quality wheel bearing grease.

My suggestions, if the calipers are not leaking, you only need to replace pads and sensors. Repack the wheel bearing, and replace rotor if necessary. Add the caliper repair kits only if it leaks.

I have not seem your car, I don't think any of the parts would wear out at 100k. If you think replacing the brake's hardware would make you feel better. Then you also need to replace the rear brakes as well.

Even though the car only has 105,000 miles, it has a lot of rubber problems. The car was parked in a carport in near desert conditions in north central Texas. The last time I replaced the pads, I noticed that the outer dust boots on the calipers are cracked as well as the hoses. I'd rather do them before they are compromised.

I probably will do the rear brakes as well.

My question still is whether or not I actually need the anti-rattle clips and the shims.

The shims come on the brake pads. The only things that could be rusty would be the spring and possibly the retaining springs.

Thanks, I knew there had to be something that was over done like that. By the way, what is in the brake hardware kit? Am I going to duplicate parts there too?
