95 C280 sending unit
Can someone tell me how I get to the fuel level sending unit in my C280. Do I have to drop the tank or is there a trap door. Thanks for any help.

There are 2. It is a saddle tank. There are doors that come off the bottom/forward section of each tank. Trying to remember, there is something special about the left side, I think that's where the fuel is collected to get drawn in by the pump. There also is a tube that connects the right and left sides so all the fuel can be used. It's a PITA system. Also I think the left side has the evap pressure sensor. You'll see 2 or 3 bolts holding the covers on.

Do I have to remove the tank?

No, not at all. Have to drain it though. Which there are special tools required to do. Not sure how the DIYer drains this tank. Also tools to pull out the senders.

I have about 2 gals left in the tank.I'm just going to stick a hose down the filler and siphon it out.
