C-280 steering
Lowered my 1999 C-280 using H&R Sport Springs and 8mm pads in front and 18mm pads in rear. Car was realigned four corners by my MB dealer. Car looks great, handles well and the ride was not degraded. Only one problem, steering feels wierd, when I make a min. radius turn, as in a U turn. Has this messed up the steering geometry? Is there a solution?

Welcome to the lowered world...The wheel alignment of lowered cars is completely different as with the normal ride-height equivalents.
A lowered car tends to go straight forward when it is forced to make a sharp turn...the alignment is changed to an as-good-as-possible alignment and as long as the car drives straight forward, there is no problem, but as soon as the wheels are turned a lot or completely the wheels are totally out of alignment and therefore the car wants to go straight forward instead of following the requested direction. I always have to turn my car slowly in winter when it is slippery; otherwise it will hit anything that stands in front of the car... greetingz,
