Cetral locking problem
Hi Guys,
I have a 96 E200 estate, the central locking has been fine, but recently sat on my keys and ran the batteries down in the remote key. To lock it overnight, I used the space "credit card" key/locking device, which worked fine (not used it before). Got a new set of batteries for my key unit and installed the batteries, when I held the button down for 2 seconds, the red light flashed, which showed me the batteries were fine. Went to use it on the car and no go ! I tried using the "credit card" device and it worked ....... any ideas guys ? the credit card device is a bit big to carry about all the time ! You need to reinitialize the remote.
Point at the mirror and press the button twice and within 30 sec place key in ignition and turn to pos 2. If that don't work check your owners manual to see if I remember correctly.
