I have been called in to head our local Crisis Intervention Team for children as a Child Psychologist. My head is spinning now and the phone has not stopped. As parents, you must be aware of what your children are experiencing and are seeing.....take the time with them they will need. I will be splitting my time between our local mental health clinic and hospital. Tomorrow I will be setting up teams to assist the schools. Lakehurst Naval Air Station is 10 miles from my home.....I do not know if they will call, I was on site there two years ago when a plane went down that had left there. It affected many families who were from the area. I know the times ahead are going to be quite difficult....... I only hope and pray that I can help those children and families somehow deal with this Nation's crisis. My thoughts and prayers go out to all...I must go now....We need to pull together as a nation....

I want to acknowledge all of you who are doing what you can to assist with this horrific tragedy, and to salute those of you who have served our nation in the past, and/or now stand by as members of our military forces ready and anxious to engage this heinous enemy, whoever and wherever they may be.

I had a chill today when a person I know told me that their son (a Special Forces Marine) had already been dispatched on special priority orders to the Middle East Yesterday afternoon...

There's a special place in Hell reserved for all who knowingly organized, trained, contributed to, aided, abetted, supported, housed, fed, and otherwise assisted these barbarians, as well as another one for those who have celebrated these unspeakably inhumane events after the fact.

I'm temporarily stuck in Anchorage, Alaska due to the horrific actions of the terrorist group that seem to be fighting against humanity, but I'm glad to be here rather than in NY... I called home this afternoon and spoke with my 4 yr old granddaughter - the first thing she told me was that some people got killed. I know this has disturbed her greatly, she always confides her problems to me. I can tell we will have to talk a lot when I return home!
Here's hoping all our friends and relatives are ok and that the perpetrators of the devastation meet a swift and sure justice.

Thank you Scott for your thoughts and genuine support. I got home at 1:30 AM and have the mental health clinic pretty much staffed and ready to go with the psychologists and counselors. I spent some time yesterday at two local elementary schools..some of the children were in fear of a plane hitting their school or house while not at home.......I have devised a plan that I will implement today in several county schools and hopefully hold a training session tonight. I plan to get to New York on Saturday and work there for the weekend........I know that this will have a lasting impact on all of us.....I will try to post when I can......This is living hell here.......I hope that we can get the children and families emotionally stable........there is much work to be done in the future.:(
