I would like to replace most of the brittle vacume hoses
on my 1985 380sl. Can I get the proper material from a Pep Boys? What size hose do I need?

I called phill@fastlane and he said the rubber hoses are no longer color coded. I had hoped to hae an ample supply of new hose so i could replace them 1 at a time as i took them of. Can any one tell me about how much I need of each size?

the dealers said "just bring in the hoses" and because i am not that organized i think it's a bad idea to take anything off unless i am going to replace it right then.

Get a digital camera and take LOTS of pictures - the "film" is cheap! Used <=5 megapixel cameras are cheap, and at this point I would consider a digital camera an important "shop tool". I have one that I don't mind getting dirty, which was replaced as my "good camera" by a newer model.
