E350 brake pads replacement ???

Have anyone DIY the E350 brake pads replacement ??? I've read these on one of the auto parts site:
Notes: Important: SBC brake system MUST be deactivated using Mercedes Star Diagnosis tool. When activated, the SBC brake system builds up high pressure in the brake system. The automatic extension of the caliper pistons may result in serious bodily injury. Brake pressure may cause brake fluid to escape at high pressure, with possible resulting damage or injury. Maintenance or repair work must NEVER be performed on an active SBC brake system.
I usually change brake pads on all of my other cars except Benz... Is there any diff from Benz to the rest of the cars ???:D

On pre-SBC model MBs, you can DIY pad and rotor changes without special equipment.

The SBC system periodically "tests" the brake system, and when active, will push the pistons against the pads...and rotors. You don't want this occurring while your hands are in there replacing pads!!

I have read at least one post where someone was able to successfully change pads on his SBC-equipped model. My guess is that he probably disconnected the battery.

One Can replace brake pads on a SBC W211 Without a SDS

Unplug the SBC pump..Under the hood Pass side

OR

Lock the car and then proceed like a regular brake job

Do NOT Open any door during this repair as a open door WILL Trigger the SBC pump and the pressure will either take a finger off if in the way or spit out the brake caliper pistons

If anyone decides to go this route, make sure to disconnect both batteries. The purpose of the auxiliary battery is to power up SBC in the event of complete systems (main) battery failure. ;)

E350 Pad Replacement

I just replaced mine on my 06 e350 and it was very easy. I did disconnect the cable to the sensotronic "brick" under the hood. It has a locking mechanism on it that when it is pull upward, it disengages the plug. For safe measure, I went ahead and locked the car and made sure noone was around the car when I was doing the job. It takes more time to jack up the car and pull off the tires that it does to change the pads.

Good Luck!
