delayed upshift 400E

Hey guys....again I must return to the brain trust with a question.
My 400 e 92 has an unatural delay shifting from first to second no matter how slowly i accelerate. If I go to 15 miles an hour and hold it won't shift at all. Like a standard. Any help would be appreciated.
Brian.

Before someone else asks, I'll ask. This doesn't just happen when the engine is cold, does it? If so, it's a design feature to warm up the catalytic converters faster. Obviously, if it happens when the engine is fullly warm, there's a problem, and I'm not competent to advise about that, though I would suspect the same circuitry which deliberately delays the 1-2 shift -- perhaps engine temp sensor malfunctioning and giving a "cold engine" signal?

i got the same problem with my 190e - can somebody HELP US...
:( is this a mere cable adjustment problem for the tranny or some sorth of sensor.... Even with the engine so warm up it still does the thing .....

Thanks,
Jhaycee

I went back to the engine and pulled and pushed back on the plugs for the engine temperature and the problem went away. When I was looking at the plugs I must have bothered the connection.. So thanks to the guy for the first thread pointing me to the delay system for warming the engine. That was it.
