Ignition Switch...HELP!

I have a 1994 e320, I need to replace the ignition switch. Never done this before. Any advice on how too?
I already replaced the starter and wiring and such but now the car will not start.

That car has a starter interlock relay that can keep the starter from working.

Have you checked your fuses??? # 5 powers up the relay.

Also the alarm must send signal to that relay, does it work??

All the fuses are good. I don't know about the alarm relay it was disconnected.

I would also check your Park interlock on the transmission. May sound dumb, but have you tried to start the car in Neutral? When your key is in the "run" position and THE PARKING BRAKE SET put car in R and see if your reverse lights work.

I am able to bypass the ignition switch and start the car, but I will try that and see if it works, but I am pretty sure the switch is toast :(

Car does not start in neutral :( so now I am pretty sure it is the ignition switch. How do I go about fixing that?

I am in the same boat with the same car ... don't know if moisture is playing a role .... the last time before today, the car did not start while it was raining ... rained last night and did not start today again ... will wait a few hours and retry ... also, previous owner had cut 3 wires under the passenger floor mat for the alarm, I even reconnected these today, but didn't help nor starting in neutral ... i would recommend removing fuse #5 and checking it plus its place in the fuse box for corrosion

I checked all the fuses yesterday and all good. And it's not moisture (unfortunately) I live in SoCal no suck thing as rain :( But I am able to bypass the ignition and start it. I have installed a button so i am able to start my car until I can figure out how to replace the ignition switch or where to take it too. Also now, my blower for my air does not work! This is ridiculous! Can someone, anyone please help!? I have tried everything it feels like!
