S320 trans leak
I changed the transmission oil filter and the gasket on the pan. Then I filled the trans with oil, and adjusted the level with the engine running and the car in park. Now, I have a leak from the seal. I torqued the pan to 6 pounds. I have taken the pan off and checked the seal fit, which looked good, then replaced it, and retorqued it again.
Any ideas what is wrong?? Should I be using some spray gasket sealer??

The corners of the pan might be tweaked ...
Remove the trans pan and inspect with a Straight Edge If not level Adjust with a hammer...I Have seen several do this as even IF you did not over tighten the pan bolts It might have been tweaked before you serviced the trans...as the corners if tweaked will bottom out on the trans and leak even with a NEW Pan seal

I did overtighten. The first time around I think I tightened to 18 pounds. Might have to get a straightedge. Do you have any suggestions for what to use for adjusting the level??
