123 front seat sag
Has anybody repaired a 123 front seat that has collapsed on one side, or alternatively replaced the seat covering on one of these? Advice before I start stripping the seat would be most appreciated. Thanks, UK.

The spring frame has broken. You either should replace it or throw it away and use all foam in its place. Have a auto upholstery shop do it. Or, you can get a good passinger seat at a junk yard and do a bit of swapping of parts.

It's real common for the springs in the driver's set to break, remember this is the one that gets to most wear. I have fixed them two ways. On one I disassembled the seat and took the seat spring to my local welder. He welded the broken springs back together using a backer plate. After I reassembled the seat it sits just like a new one, no sag. On the other one I used a good spring from a donor passenger seat that was in need of a new seat cover. You don't really have to take the seat to a upholstery shop. If you are handy with common tools they are pretty easy to take apart and reassemble.

The spring isn't that expensive. The repair is easy after removing the seat from the vehicle.

Thank you for the great idea, a seat with air springs.
