Well, I have the same thoughts
I have this very nice 86 W124 which has not been driven since it came out of California some 8 years ago. I don't plan to run it until spring to keep it out of the weather. I got a lot of new sunroof parts with the car. I have never tried the sun roof, but was told it doesn't work. I have all the service records on the car and it seems like this sunroof was a hassle since the lady bought the car new in 86. Endless RO's say sun roof problems. Evidently the dealer had problems keeping that thing operating. As much as I would like to have in operate correctly, it probably isn't going to happen.

Ok so let's just say you have talked me out of it, my next question would be. (I manually operated the roof with the supplied crank in the tool kit and it just clicks, once it popped up and went back down now it is caddy wampuss in the back) How much would a dealership charge, your best educated guess. would an Indy deal with that?
Thank You |

I have an 1986 300E and the dealer estimated $2000 labor and parts to repair the sunroof. None of the local indies were interested so I fixed the sunroof myself. In most cases its not really that difficult, it takes time and patience. Also it helps if you are limber enough to work inside the trunk.
