1993 600sl no compression left bank

and also down to 50 psi on right bank.........found intake valves held open by lifters. tapped the cam followers and valves are now closed and we have compression. wtf? i would love to hear what i cannot even imagine is happening here.

let me add, i removed the valve covers and found the lifters holding the intake valves open........after tapping them they released and compression is restored. from zero to 150. i have yet to run it but the compression is back.

This was a problem with those and the m119. I can not remember exactly but the cause was too high of oil pressure when cold overpumped the lifters. There was a MB notice for this. Too long ago for me to remember.
