"engine hood open" warning light

I have the engine hood closed, and it does not seem to shake and is not loose. But on the instrument panel, there is right light warning of "engine hood open".

What is the problem? Is it some kind of sensor that need to be replaced? The car is a 2002 cl600, if it matters.

Thanks

My, I have never heard of an "engine hood open" warning light! That is fancy!

Yeah, I would say a faulty sensor is the blame if the hood panel is closed tightly.
