300 E and 300 TE have same transmissions?

I want to put an engine and transmission from my 92 300E into my 92 300TE wagon.

The first 13 numbers on the transmissions are the same. They are 124 270 96 00 722.

The other numbers are as follows:
3580 3572095
3580 3564739
Are these numbers the serial numbers for each transmission?

So are the two transmissions the same?

Edited

I think the last 7 numbers on each transmission are the serial numbers.

Yes, both 722.358s. I believe it's the last six that is the serial number, like an engine number.

the only diff btwn 300e and 300te[apart from body]is the differential ratio.the te is a higher numerical number.

When you say differential ratio, does that refer to the gears in the third member, I think one is the ring and another is the pinion. j Is that right?

Also when you say the te has a higher numerical number does that mean it is geared lower than the 300 E. Or in other words the TE would run at a higher rpm to go the same speed as the 300 E. Or is it the other way around?

Yes, higher number means higher RPMs all other things being equal. But I think 92s were both 2.87. Earlier version wagons were geared lower (higher number). In any case the number is stamped on the side of the housing - you're looking for 2.87, 3.07 or 3.27.
