need info on 560SEL model
Hi All
I am new to this board but not to being a lover of MB cars. Presently own a 1995 E320 Cabriolet with 80k on the clock and an 1985 380SL with just 120k on the clock. I am not a DIY guy but am able to afford and pay top dollar to have my toys kept to the highest standard. With this in mind, I am looking to buy the last model year I believe 93-94 560SEL, please correct me if I am wrong on the last model year. I just love the big and elegant body style. Now some questions. What were the major achiles heals on this model and what would be the most costly repair I would need to worry about on this model year? I am looking for one with between 100k and 120k on the clock and of course well maintained with service records if possible. I know longer drive alot, maybe 9k per year so this car would be my everyday driver. Am I being realisted in thinking I can find what I am looking for in the $3k to $4k price ramge? Thanks to all in advance for your replies. Regards, acesfull |
A good place to start is here, click on the buyer's guide which I co wrote back in 1998
www.mbcoupes.com <---- see the buyers guide there. The 560SEL sedans were sold in the USA for the 1996 through 1991 model years They can be a fantastic bargain if you get a good one nowadays because of their great appetite for (premium)fuel. They look best in the dark metallic colors such as blue, black and red Good luck in the hunt. |
That would be 1986 through '91 right Jim?

As easy as
One, don't need an engine rebuild. They're more expensive than they're worth. Two, they drink premium gasoline. Three, they like to be driven, so don't let them sit. -CTH |
