C2000 wiper replacement
I just got a Bosch wiper from my local auto store because the one on my c2000 1999 estate has worn out. The instruction diagrams in the manual are confusing as the wiper arm bears no resemblance to them.
I've searched online to find out how to do this to no avail. I have changed wiper blades before with no problem. Please tell me I don't have to take it to a garage and pay a small fortune for a few minutes work! Thanks! :) |
I have never heard of a C2000. What country are you in? Anyway, wipers are the one thing I like to get from the dealer. Usually they charge about the same as a parts store plus they have the added benefit that they will actually fit the car. It could be that they just sold you the wrong part. I know I bought some for my car once and they were wrong so I ended getting it from the dealer and was the same price anyway.

I'm figuring it's a c-class with the single wiper?
Mercedes used to sell a simple rubber blade in which you removed the old wiper blade then took apart the two thin metal stripe that inserted along it length and replaced them into the new rubber blade with the notches facing outward. You then slid the new rubber blade with the metal inserts into the wiper arm blade holder from the bottom, and pulled it threw until it set into the notches. THAT IS WHAT THE DIAGRAM IN THE OWNERS MANUAL TRIES TO DUPLICATE. Now Mercedes (maybe even BOSCH) sells a whole wiper blade attachment that means you simple Press SAFETY TAB DOWN push wiper blade downward to remove (as described in the manual) and just reverse the order with the new blade. If you took a few pictures and posted them we could confirm. |
If it is a C class then the refill is still available at the dealer. Many were discontinued but not this one. At least the one for my car. There is another thread about this. I think they are about 10.00. I can post the PN but it is in the other thread.
