W202 transmission hard shift

I own a 2000 C230 the transmission is shifting hard 1-2-3. Just replaced the filter and a\used OE Mercedes Benz Tans fluid. Thinking that it needed to be replaced because of the hard shift. In what kind of trouble am I in???
I would hate to go by the dealer to get run over.
Thanks
Mike

How old is your MAF and could it be going bad? How are your flex discs? Have you disconnected your battery for 30 seconds just to see what a reset of the adaption values will do (you will need your radio code and to resync your windows and sunroof after the power disconnect)?

The flex discs can cause hard shifts. They're easy to check and not too bad to replace. Your post isn't clear on the fluid. Did you have the transmission fluid changed when the new filter was installed?

Will,
It is kind of funny but the MAF went bad 2 weeks ago. I had it replaced. The transmission still shifts hard. Any other ideas or suggestions?

Mike

Are you sure your transmission is correctly filled?

Hold on!! Check the vacuum line that connects to the vacuum modulator on the side of the transmission before going too far. Look for the black vacuum line. If that line is loose or leaking it will cause hard shifts all around.

You do not have a vacuum line. This is a 722.6 electronic transmission.
Getting the codes checked is the first step. Also the adaptations. You may have a bad one way roller in the transmission. I also see shifters cause weird problems.
This is one of those things were you need good diagnostics.
Your transmission does not need to be replaced unless there are broken hard parts. Debris in your pan. But it may need to be rebuilt.

You are supposed to use the Benz tool which is a dipstick since the tranny's filler tube is sealed with a plastic cap and does not have a dipstick and the fluid has to be 80'C when checking the fluid. Did you do these when replacing the fluid?

Vac

Check the vac lines. Are you getting any codes? I had a bad line and was getting a p1700. $2 worth of vac tubing solved my problem. It's a good place to start.

Flex disc (not an easy DIY) is the next thing to look at.
