Blower Motor Speed Varies intermittantly

Hello Everyone,

I have a 1999 C230. The blower motor speed varies at will. Motor also squeels some times. I took the Climate Control out and if I shake it, it will work normal sometimes.

The individual heating/cooling controls also seem to work intermittanly also?

Any one efer have this problem ?

Thanks

Steve.... new to list

Spray some WD40 on the motor to free it up.

I have had issues with my blower motor as well, but i have a 1990 190E 2.6L. it would squeal and the speed would vary at times....if i had it high, it would still not put out as much power. i think my bearings are bad....so what i did (not because im cheap, but because i didnt have the money to buy a new blower motor) was buy a can of liquid wrench, not wd40. liquid wrench is liquified petroleum and the lubrication is awesome and will work better than wd40. take out the blower motor, spray a little of the liquid wrench on there and get some wires to connect to the blower motor connectors (remember the direction the fan turns) use the other ends of the wire and ground one end to the negative charge of the car battery, and then holding the other end, touch the positive charge. it will allow the blower motor fans to spin while you are holding it and also allow the liquid wrench to work itself into the bearings and lube them up and free up the fan. this should resolve your problem for several months untill you get a new blower motor. i did this to my car maybe 6 months ago and the blower motor is still blowing fine. at one point my blower motor didnt even turn when i switched it on. so this is a sure fix for you.
