'88 420SEL: 2 issues: sunroof and exhaust hangers

2 issues:

1. I have no water leak from my sunroof. However, when closed and car goes above 70 mph, I get a wooshing noise from the sunroof. Cannot pinpoint it. It seems to be tight, but I would note that the front rubber damper no longer springs up when it is opened. Would this cause a wind noise when the roof is closed at high speeds?

2. How much play should there be in the rear exhaust hangers? Should the exhaust pipe be about 1 inch below the upper rubber bumper for it, or should it be higher?

Any guidance on these issues would be most appreciated.

The rubber bumpers sound like they are normal. I also had the noise from the sun roof. You will have to change the seal. Not very difficult if you know the tricks. They are detailed in the CD rom.
