Head gaskets - 1981 380sl

Are there any unforseen snags that will occur when the Head Gaskets are done ? Any special tools needed ?
I purchased all the Gasket sets. Has a new Water Pump, and many new parts. I'm getting Anti-freeze in my oil and I think that the previous owner ( female ) had problems with overheating and chose every avenue but the Heads. New waterpump, lots of Radiator fix, Aux. fan clutch, - didnt want to spend the money ( I guess ) I have every piece of paper that pertains to the maintenance of this vehicle since it was made, including the Import papers. Amoung the bills and reciepts are the items mentioned. Any thing will help......................Thanks ...ron

Antifreeze in the oil makes me think there is a crack somewhere from the overheating. Typical head gasket failures are oil in the coolant, and combustion in the coolant. Coolant in the oil makes me think crack, though I'm not saying a head gasket couldn't do it. Also isn't there also o-rings that seal coolant between the timing cover and block that can leak? I would pull the valve covers off and pressurize the cooling system. You can then peer down into the timing cover and visually check for coolant leaks into the crankcase.
