300 CE cruise control
Mercedes owners of the world-
Just picked up a '92 300CE and the cruise control is not working, my mechanic says it is not a vacuum issue. What else could it be on this fine car? Should I be in for a big cost repair? Thanks, Norm

You might want to get someone who knows what they are doing to diagnosis the cause and then repair it yourself. I might be actuator, amplifier, or maybe a relay. From my limited experience it has been the amplifier. If you have another amplifier I'd try that. The actuator is a pain to get to, at least on my 1992 M103 engine, it's under the intake manifold.

First thing to do is change the brake lamp bulbs to the silver-base 21watt european bulbs. The copper base American spec bulbs do cause this problem, I just cured mine with new bulbs.
