83 380 SEL Fuel Pump Relay
 

History: car has started has not been driven till the other week. Drove to the station, filled up & would not start. Tow .... Pulled #1 plug & I have spark. Pulled the main fuel line & no fuel exits while turning over the engine.
After reading posts: I'm trying to check the pump relay as I can not hear the fuel pump. Posts said the relay is behind the glove box, but part suppliers list the 'kickdown relay' & this is in the fuse box!
Which is it?
Can these be rebuilt?
I have a 85 SEL for parts & #'s match on Fastlane, but that car is 400 miles away so ... another trip, unless these can be rebuilt. Unit in car's fuse box that matches Fastlane search of 'fuel pump relay' & terminals look good except #7.
I jumped terminals #7 to #8 in the 'kickdown' module & lots of fuel flows into my pop bottle fuel catcher.
So now the question is can this unit be rebuilt & or am I pissing into the Rhine & another issue is being loaded into Big Burtha while I'm in Paris in WW1?
