The new 300E

While she's currently awaiting some fuel system work (idle problem)....it IS drivable (aside from a hard cold start)......here she is! Its just a cell phone camera pic I took a couple days ago, its very nice in person.

Looks nice! I thought you test drove it and it didn't have any issues?

Can't wait for more high res and interior pics!

Yeah the seller slightly swindeled us I think, I think he always went out and had it a little warmed up prior to our arrival. The engine has almost no blowby at all though, and runs excellent in general. Trans shifts absolutely perfectly. So once I track down the cold start/low idle problem, it will be perfect. Only 133k....and a Nevada car, 0 rust. Well worth it even if it needs a bit of motor TLC....its almost impossible to find a northern car that looks like this.

Thumbs up

Your issues are almost certainly vac related. Spend a few hundred and replace ALL the rubber under the hood.

Nice rig.

Yep, I already ordered everything I (think) I need to do that. Anything I didn't order I'll get in a second order, or I'll just get it from the dealer. I'll get this thing running right! Thursday I will be spending a portion of the day dismantling and inspecting all said rubber pieces and hoses and....to get an idea of what should be replaced....I'll also test some stuff like the idle valve and such.

At this point, nothing will be good. "U" shaped upper timing cover, valve cover, front main, vac lines... all will leak. Even the three and four way connectors leak. I picked up 0.5" just replacing a few of those.

Do the boot under the throttle body too, they leak. I'd do the valve stem seals while it's all apart.

Expect 16.5-19" of vac at hot idle, in park

I probably still will need to order a throttle body boot, some 3-way and 4-way connectors....and perhaps the injector o-rings.....and I'll be testing the idle control valve tomorrow as well, and replacing it if bad.... $$$

And if that doesn't solve it, I guess I move on to sensors!

Yeah....I am cheap....so tomorrow I am going to take a look at it for a bit and see what rubber is degraded, then I'll place another order....I was trying to get away with not buying the $28 main boot.
