Window troubleshooting
 

So I refurbished the electric window switches according to the "how to" and although it didn't fix my problem I'm glad I did it because they were dirty.
So I decided to take apart the drivers door panel and check out the window motor. I discovered it wasn't even connected to anything. So then I was trying to figure out which wires it should be hooked up to. I see there is a green and a black wire on the motor, next I notice a green and black set of wires bolted into a black plastic receptacle on the door itself. Is that where it should be connected to? [Blue rectangle]. Also I noticed the [Black rectangle] set of wires that seemed to be going inside the particle board section that snaps into the door metal frame. What are these wires for? What do they do? I think they came out of the [Blue rectangle] circle in the particle board insert.
If I now have the motor hooked up correctly then it isn't working. If I need to remove the particle board, how is this done? Do I need to remove the clips? (second picture]
Also if anyone has a black metal housing that sits behind the door latch I am looking for one [bottom picture]. Plus I am also looking for a "junk tray" that sits right below the ash tray. Thanks.

Assuming I'm getting the perspective correct, those are the door sill light wires, which would turn on the light mounted on the bottom of the door pocket area. Sometimes called puddle lights?

I'm not sure what clip you are talking about, but if someone else doesn't speak up on it, I'll take a look at the parts car and see what I can see, later today or tomorrow.

As to the door latch backer, I suspect I can extract one from the parts car that you can have for the cost of postage, if that work for you. Maybe the same for the junk tray, but I'm not sure what condition it's in.

That would be great Josh. Those latches I refer to are what holds the particle board backer onto the rest of the door interior (viny). I dont think I'll need to remove it to hook up those wires though.

There is no need to seperate the door panel. I can not see your photos for some reason, but I have taken mine apart many times (welded the regulator twice already). There should be 2 wires I believe they are black and green coming from the window motor and going to the black plastic block mounted on the door with 2 phillips screws. There should be 2 wires coming from the harness that passes through the conduit from the car body into the door also attached to the same 2 screws. Use a test light to see if you are getting power to either of the wire coming to the door when you press the window switch. If you get power (polarity is switch for up and down) and the window still doesn't work then you have a bad motor. There might be a dead spot in the motor so the previous owner disconnected the window so it didn't get stuck down. I did that on my pass rear window for that very reason. I just hooked a 12v charger directly to the motor leads and heard a humming noise which I presume is the motor trying to work. The window is already up so I can't exactly tell if it's functioning or not. I know it's not the switch as reversing them did not help. It may be the wire because the drivers and the rear righ window are both out of order.
