Most likely fuel pressure bleed-off.
Common issue on CIS cars. Fuel pump check valve, fuel pressure accumulator, or fuel pressure regulator o-ring are the most common problems. OF course the secondary ignition MUST be in good condition! |
what do you mean " OF course the secondary ignition MUST be in good condition!""
thanks |
Dist cap, rotor, wires, & coil.
Low secondary ignition voltage will cause hard starting with a HOT engine just like a lack of fuel. |

When I first got my 500SEC I chased this problem for months, spending probably nearly a thou on parts and labor at my indie, changing dist cap, wires, plugs and other things.
One day I was griping about it to an older gent who had made his living working on benzes when this car was new, and he said....."always push the gas pedal down about half way on startup on those cars". I did that and also developed the habit of never shutting the car off when going into the village pantry to get a news paper or such and lived happily ever after. It was bleeding fuel into the intake on shutoff and when you restarted it the fuel would make it run rich and stumble until you revved the engine up and blew it out. I never fixed the problem but it never got worse either. I drove the car sixty thousand miles that way. It ran strongly and smoothly in every other way. |

Wur
Does it look like it has the original, or an old Warm Up Regulator? My original WUR on my 380 lasted 22 years and then it started to have warm start issues until I replaced it. I'm not saying that's your problem, but if soon, it becomes very hard to start when warm, I would suspect it to be faulty.
