Everstart Maxx at Walmart has 3 years free replacement and 9 years pro-rated warranty for less than $80. Everstart Maxx is made by Johnson Control the maker of Interstate and it is rated very highly by Consumer Report.

My next battery for '00 E430 will be Everstart Maxx.

Johnson makes most of Auto Zone's batteries too...

I believe the Dealer battery has a higher CCA rating than the Autozone/walmart/sams club (johnson controls) batteries. Like 1100 vs 805 or something. That can make a difference on those -10F mornings!

AZ has the proper big unit for the W126s. My 300SEL came with a small batt, luckily for me it fits in my 745i turbo properly... so I just picked up another big MB one.

Got a Mercedes battery at Sun Motors in Harrisburg (Mechanicsburg), PA for $135. I didn't see anything much cheaper on Interstate's website or NAPA, so I went with it. Sure stands out in the engine bay
