oil pressure sender replacement?
Anyone out there tell me how to / how easy / how $ to replace a faulty oil pressure sender on my 2.3-16? Gauge is 'sticking' at the 3 reading when turned on.
Please advise, thanks. |
It took me 10 minutes. I got oil on my finger and the part was $50. However I cant speak about your car. The car I did was a 91 420sel and the sender is located on the oil filter housing. Very accessable from under the car. No obstructions. I had the same symptoms that you have. Stuck at 3. Its probably similar with yours. Give it a try. What do you have to loose?

Dave-
Ah, exactly the answer I was hoping for! I'll have to locate mine, my oil filter canister is up against the driver's firewall near wiper. Wonder if it's on there? What's it look like, anyway? I'll price the part wholesale and hope for the best. Thanks again. |
They are generally cylinder shaped with a threaded port connection to the oil circuit and a single wire that snaps on the top. No knowledge about yours. But I would guess very similar.
