Brake Rod Support Bushings

If I'm stopped with my foot on the brake, and I let up about 1/4", and press down about 1/4", I get an annoying "thunk".

I'm told I need brake rod support bushings. What eactly are they, and what other name does it go by? I've been looking at parts suppliers online (including Phil's) and I don't see any reference to such a thing. Maybe there is another name for it.

Thank you.

I'm so sorry. Thought it would apply to all cars, and all of that holiday party cheer affects clear thinking, you know...........

It's a 1990 300SEL (W126).

Can you please delete this post because I used a wrong word and it would be too confusing to correct the title in a 4th post to the thread. I'm really sorry about all of this, I will start over and promise to do it right.
