Based on the info I have read, with over twice the rated torque in the engine and the lax adaptation from the 90 year old man who previously owned the car I guess the adaptation # would have been incredibly high and the transmission had too much slip. My dad has driven the car twice but I DD it. I granny around everyday except on friday or saturday. My transmission always seemed slower than other e320's when it came to shifting, was that result of the grocery getting ways of the previous owner and my slow daily driving 90% of the time?

yeah the tranny "learned" the drving style of the driver and adapted to it.

You can wipe that easily enough yourself. With the crunching I heard at the end of the vid I don't think it will help tho.

That was my tuning computer tossing about and hitting the console. I had the car scanned and a throttle position error and transmission slip code came up. I'm pretty sure the transmission is in need of some kind of repair although it drives just fine when I go about my granny driving ways. I'm definately rebuilding it myself since I have access to the DVD about it but I would like it to be programmed to shift firmer to prevent further problems.

I have heard about kevlar clutch packs so I figure if my transmission is OK then I could start with those after a rebuild and see what happens.

Do you need the cookpit procedure to wipe/reset adaptation values to factory settings?
