What color for inside of trunk - 80s M-Bs?

What is the correct color or color code for the inside of trunks and under trunk lid on 1980s Mercedes-Benz cars? Is it available in spray? Thanks.

It appears to depend on the specific models. My 1988 W124 looks like it's just the vehicle base coat color (w/o clear), but the WIS indicates that trunk colors in W126s were either Galinite Grey or Deep Dark Grey, depending on model year. Give us chassis number and model year and we may be able to pin it down for you. And yes, spray paints in the correct colors are available from MBz.

My 1983 and my 1982 have paint that wraps around the edge of the trunk, then the trunk is a flat black.

The blacks seem to be a satin black - in between flat and gloss.

The color you guys are seeing is the final sealer coat that benz uses before they shoot color. Most all 80's benz are a darker grey and the only exception is any painted 040 black, usally flat black. Mercedes does not ship spray cans anymore due to voc problems and transport of chemicals. If your trying to match the color take it to any auto paint store and they can scan it. I will look tmrrw whn at wrk and see if I can come up with some paint codes.

My Black 82 300SD has flat black. My brother's Beige 300D has the gray color that looks remarkably close to black.

My '91 S-class is a semi-flat black - how gauche for a high-end car. Seems it outa have had a pad under there.

Sorry, the WIS is no help on colors of luggage compartments for either of those chassis. The best it does is to list the colors of plastic detachable body parts (bumpers, bumper covers, side mirrors, lower side cladding, etc.). Might be worth talking to the guys at your local MBz dealer's body shop.
