Does anyone have any comments about this post on e-bay?

Buyer to pay 8.00 Insured shipping. No need to wait til the end of the auction everyone is a winner. Paypal me 47.95 and item will ship right away> call me and charge it and will ship right away 619-697-4369. Send funds to Bigbabbo 6059 Lake murray Blvd La Mesa CA 91942 and antenna will ship right away> Remeber everyone is a winner in this auction. This is model Hit Auta 1040. I am thinking of ordering one. The controller in the box has completely fried and the guide is gone.

N. Gilbert--

I would refrain from buying anything off of E-bay because of the fact that you are depending on the seller to accurately represent his/her product... I have heard that a lot of those "genuine" products that they seller there are copies. I would spend the extra money and buy a genuine antenna either at Mercedes shop or at your local Mercedes dealer. There is a reason why they are priced that low...

Hope that helps!

You can get an original Rebuilt unit for a good price. With your old one as the core...

Or just do what I did. I used the gears from mine and mast torepair my dad's antenna, and now I just pull mine up when I need it...

Ohh and I never need it, so antenna is down when car is on and driving. I only listen to Cd's in the car...

By the way Hirschmann does not currently make an "Hit Auta 1040" they do make a universal model, an HIT Auta 2040, which is around $70.00 see their site...

I have bought a fair amount of stuff from this ebay seller and have been perfectly satisfied. Bought all of my door, windshield and trunk seals from him and the sill plate rubbers for my 1972 280SE 4.5. Genuine MB parts, New old stock in some cases. Never disappointed.

Ebay has been a great and reliable source for many little MB bits and pieces for me and other friends with 111's and 114's.

Bigbabbo is reliable and on the ball.

False Advertising!!!
This antennae will fit if you want to drill a new hole in the body panel!

The bases provided don't even come close to the stock base with its high sloping angle. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE. Even the wiring wouldn't fit.

I had power at my antennae hook up. When the radio was turned on I had 12vdc at the appropriate terminals but the new antennae wouldn't cycle up or down. The coax wouldn't fit the cell phone, radio cross over module.

Lots of teasing in the garage over a few brews on Saturday afternoon reminded me why my friends hang out.

So much for "Hey, I know, I can save $200.00 by spending only $47". I humbly accept defeat and won't order from ebay again...
