W202 water squirting from 1 radiator hose

guys i have water squirting from my upper radiator hose. u know the big one that goes to the thermostat. i have tried replacing the clamps but water still coming out above 100 degrees. should i replace the hose or is it just an indication of a more serious problem (head gasket failure maybe?)

Is it just water? You need to have a mixture of coolant (the right kind, to prevent corrosion) and water or it will boil once it hits 100C.

Resolve the coolant leak by replacing the upper radiator hose. Then watch for other potential problems. There is no reason to presume you have a head gasket problem unless the radiator hose leak caused the engine to overheat resulting in a warped head. Deferring cooling system maintenance is not a good idea with a MB automobile.

Sounds like a bad hose. They do go bad! You didn't say how old it is.
