srs light

my 1994 c220 (w202) is in great shape. everything works fine but when i start the car, the SRS light goes on for 2 min an then goes off, i went to a certified Mercedes shop and after scanning with his machine, he told me that its the passenger seat belt buckle that is defective. but my question is, does that trigger the check engine light witch is on all the time?
thanks

NO, there isn't any interface between the engine & SRS systems.

srs light`

ok then,
what about AC freon. if the AC isn't functional does it have to do with the check engine?

thanks, but i have a C-class and not an E.
BTW i was just looking my cars file and i found this.
when i took it to the shop, he scanned it (in march 2008) and here is what the scan says....
scan#1
X431 DTAG report:
Smart box:980242597200
code 034, P1700 transmission shift point retard controllability.

scan#2
X431 DTAG report:
Smart box:980242597200
(1 code 010, outside temperature sensor B10/5 discontinuity short circuit to positive.
(2 code 028, A/C pressure sensor B12 short circuit to ground
(3 code 062, Electromagnetic clutch A9K1 short circuit to ground
(4 code 060, electromagnetic clutch A9K1 discontinuity, short circuit to positive
(5 code 080, temperature regulated air flap Y11/3 to postive

please note that my outside temp. sensor is working fine ( i can read the real ext. temp.)
my a/c does not give any cool air anymore. i also know that the passenger seat belt buckle is defective.
thanks for any help.
