Speed Signal/Parking Sensors??

Hi fella's,

I have searched this and many other forums that hosts tonnes of information on how to retro-fit after-market reversing sensors. In fact I'm shortly going to follow a guide from a forum which is very helpful.

One piece of information that I cannot seem to find (maybe I've missed it??) is how to take a feed from somewhere, possibly the speed signal? that will help in turning the parking sensors, including the display off whilst driving and putting them back on when I slow down again! Similar to the auto-locks on the door when I drive above 11mph. In essence, I am trying to find a "on" power source when the vehicle is manoeuvring at slow speeds then turns off whilst driving and puts back on gain when back to a manoeuvring speed.

Anyone have any ideas how to do this on a W203?

Thanks.

Andy.

I would say either power it from the backup light, or just put in a switch to turn it on and off when you need it. Any other solution will probably be much more complicated. However, some expert might have another answer.
