Startek...for Transmission Repair?

I'm looking for the transmission service & repair manual for a 1989 190E 2.6. I believe it has the 722.4XX transmission.

Does anyone know if this is available on the Startek site...I hate to pay $18.00 and it not be there.

Thanks,
The Tenor Man

I doubt it, I purchased the 140 and 210 service DVDs and neither really cover transmissions in any depth, I think it is identical info but could be wrong!

Tenor man; there is a great repair manual you can download right of this forum - best I found after a lot of searching.
Do a search here under: tranny_722_repair.
You should find a URL you can pull up in one of those threads.
Sorry I can't just send it to you; I tried, but Old Timers' disease has killed my computer skills it seems.

If you can't find and download it, message me with you email address and I think I can figure out how to send it to you that way.
Oh, my '91 SE is a 722.3xx. Your '89 may be a .3 also?

with this if it comes out you can rebuild that unit you have - i put it on a zip and than copied it to paper works better for me --

please note : you must get the special sealing kits for the 2 drums as the O rings under the riverted plates get hard and if you dont replace them it will slip into gear like a worn out trans - the pressure will blead off its not hard to do - drill out tap to 10/24 install screws instead of riverts and trim - comes with directions just make sure you are carefull with the one plate if the screw heads are not flush the clutch piston wont go all the way to the bottom and the discs wont have enough clearence to operate corectly - we belt sand the screws down a bit look at what to do and use that trick you will see why, care must be taken with the depth of the drilling for the taper heads of the screws as well , too much and you will need a new drum plate -- look at all before you do it to ensure you have what needs to be done -- jz

That last link doesn't appear to work. Might be my machine, but I get an error page.

When I was doing troubleshooting on my cars for transmission problems, I finally bought the manual from the ATSG.

This goes through the rebuild procedure, as well as having fairly detailed diagrams of much of the transmission, and troubleshooting trees to help figure out what is going on.

If you end up purchasing one, order the paper copy. It costs the same as the electronic, and you get to download the electronic as well.
