Question 190E over heating

Hi there
I have a problem with my 190e 2.6 1991 Mercedes bens
I start my car (starts fine) drive for about 5-10 mins and then it starts getting hot after 15 mins its on max hot ???
i changed and water pump & thermostat, radiator checked, theres no water in the oil, seals are fine i bleed the air out so it doesn't air lock ??? Does anyone know of any other problems it could be to corse it to over heat ?????

Is the auxillary fan (the one attached to the front of the engine) spinning up when the engine temp hits about 100C? The 2.6L engine fan uses a "viscous fan clutch" to activate the fan, so if the clutch has failed, it won't spin up.

How is the coolant? Is there black or brown stuff in it? I thought the 103 motors were known to blow head gaskets?

I have an 1989 190E 2.6 I had the same problem it was a combination of a very clogged up radiator and the front aux fan, also might want to make sure all your fins on the radiator look okay mine were bent.....and man those cars just run hot! Ohhh and you might want to post this in the gasser section of these very fine forums...and if you need parts click on the link at top...Phil is a great guy.

I have a 1993 190E 2.3 I also had the same problem. I found that my heater core was getting clogged, then soon after it let loose. It wasn't cost effective to replace it, so my passengers use a blanket on cold days. Also my front aux fans weren't kicking in, so I got a new sensor switch. Good luck!
