600SL 1998 Front end

My sisters 1998 600SL had the front end "drop" completely-as if both shocks are gone.

Anyone know if this model year has air ride or some common point of failure for this model?

I am a 126 man so this 600SL is a mystery to me

Any thoughts?

Most Mercedes springs (its the springs that hold the car up, not the shocks...)
do break at top or bottom. Might not even be possible to see until you
remove the spring from the car.

Is she low on the hydraulic fluid?

Fluid is good.

This forum (and SL site) has been a WEALTH of info.

The back end is controlled by Hydro fluid-but the front shocks each have a little accuator controlled by a computer. Computer allow the amount of air/oil to adjust ride. As both went down odds are:
-computer is bad,
-wire harness is bad from computer to shock accuator
-sensors feeding data to computers are bad/broken/misaligned
