Help, I locked my keys in my car!
 

I finally did it, I locked my only key in my 190e! It will take days
to get a spare, so...can anybody tell me how to "break into"
MY car? If you do, I will march over to "THE DEALER" and get
a spare ($27.00!). If not, I'll have to anyway...ugh! Thanks!

I'm not sure if MB's are easily opened by a lock smith, but did you try calling one to see if they can slim jim it open or possibly get you in?

Otherwise you might only be able to do it the other method, breaking the window. UGH I would not want to do that.

BTW, how did you lock the key in the car? I don't think the drivers lock will go down unless the door is closed, though I might be thinking of a different car all together.

I can pretty much get into any car out there, with my locksmithing tools. In your caes I would do the following. Try to obtain a plastic strap, like the ones that they tie up newspapers with. It should be about 1/4 to 1/2 inches wide. Take this strap and insert it through the weather stripping so that you can loop it around the head of the lock. Once around it, take up any slack and then pull up on the lock. It is important that you use the plastic strapping since it is flexible enough to maneuver, yet rigid enough to pull up o the lock. It takes patience, but it does work,

Well, I have used a coathanger to unlock mine before. It was not easy because of the severe angle and tight fit. You have to get your figners in and try to pull the door out open to get the wire more room. The wire will probably get into a funny bendy shape before you can reach the locks.

Beware. If not carefull, you will probably scratch the paint on the inside of the door frame.

What kind of plastic wrap do you use? And how is the end looped before you insert it through the weatherstripping? I would think it would not be stiff enough to make it inside.

Although I had never been unsuccessful in getting into a car with wire, I'm open to any easier way!

My neighbor said he could pick the lock....he had the tools....
but he couldn't pick the Mercedes lock! So we used a coat-
hanger and seconds later, keys are in my hand. Thanks for all
