1989 190e lowered suspension- can it be raised again?

Hello: I am new to this forum. I searched as directed in the "new members guidelines" posts, but I have not found anything pertaining to this subject: I purchased a 1989 190e and the previous owner said he lowered the suspension, front and rear, using new Bilstein shocks and new springs. Is it feasible to raise it back up to the original specs, and if yes, how big a project is it? Thank you in advance to anyone who can give any guidance.

new springs... Keep a look out in the junkyards for W201's or find a member here with a parts car.

I guess it would depend on how the car was lowered..did the stock springs get cut? Are you lucky enough to have a set of Eibach Sport Springs? ... you could be looking at spring pads, struts/shocks and springs. What kind of Bilsteins do you have, sport, comfort or HD? If I recall the sports are made for shorter springs.

In any case, bringing the car to stock spec's is not much harder than going to a junkyard and getting some stock parts....a spring compressor will make the job much easier though.

PS. If you have the Eibach Sport Springs for a 2.6, please pm me if you do not want them:)

OK, Thanks. What I've found out is that the previous owner put new Bilstein Sport struts and shocks, and new Vogtland springs all around. I'm guessing from the responses that I will have to get new or salvaged springs, and new struts and shocks to raise it back to the original height. If I don't do that, can the height be fine-tuned with the existing setup? It is so low right now that if I have one passenger, the front tires scrape when I turn into a raised driveway. Thanks for any help.
