Thank you guys!

The problem is the same as the OP's. The ACC blower runs on low speed only. Pushing hi-speed blower button does not change the blower speed. The blower is always on low.

Is R15 and F15 the same thing?

I was testing F15 on the firewall side of the fuse and ground.

I put a test lamp on the same spot with key on and blower running....no light....jiggled key=no help.

I started the car and got a light temporarily (a few seconds), and then nothing. Didn't attempt to change blower speed when I got the light.

No, R15 is a serial resistor for dropping current to the auxiliary fan(s) in front of the A/C condenser. What you want is F15, the fusible link in the blower circuit. The test for F15 is to confirm voltage at each end of the fuse. If NO voltage at the leading edge, there's a problem in the upstream circuit; if NO at the trailing edge, the fuse link is broken and needs to be replaced.

Well then I did the test correctly. No power to F-15, and no power when jiggling ignition.

OK

You have to have V at F15 or the blower woul no run at all.

Take the Feed wire to F15 off the terminal [ Pk/Gn ] and do the same test at that wire.

Ign in Run position.

Do you see the 3 wire terminal connector behind the booster [ on firewall ] ??

Well....I must have power because when the terminals are disconnected and fuse out of F15 I do indeed have no blower.

So....my testing ability is at fault. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have the aligator clip of the test light on the chasis.
(ground, correct?) and the other tip on the connector of [pink/green] wire. No lamp.

I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong and I'm afraid we can't go much further until I do. I'll test my light on a known source like the battery, and I'll look for the ground points in the manual. Does this sound like a plan of action?

It has to be the lamp or my choice of a ground as to why I'm not getting lamp on.

Yes I see the 3-wire terminal connector, and I have read some of your previous posts on the subject.

I assume that I will then follow this procedure you have written of in the past.

" The series chain for that red 12v feed at the X64 plug is ..Ign sw > R15 > X64 plug at firewall.

Key must be On to test Red @ X64.
Yellow comes from CC panel and that could be the CC fuse.

If you have 12v on BOTH sides of R15, then it is not the ign sw...suspect would be a break between R15 and X64.

You do not test the plug you unplugged..you test the one that comes from the cabin.............or better yet, you leave the connector plugged in and slip into the side of the terminals

Blk to red =12v
Yl to blk = variable V . according to CC setting

Key ON

So....my testing ability is at fault. >

Yes ...that was my suspect reading your complaint and the logic for disconnect of feed to F15.
So , you want to confirm your test lamp across the battery terminals and then go back to F15 when you have validated the lamp. If no V at F15 again, then I want you to use Battery neg as ground leg for test lamp instsed of chassis ground...that will confirm a good ground for test .
I do not suspect this as your problem b/c you have no fan with F15 input disconnected.
but we want to verify test lamp before going to the 3 wire connector at firewall.
F15 feeds the 3 wire connector , and that in turn feeds the regulator/blower assemby, but we want confirm up there first before next test b/c the next in sequence test involves getting down to blower compartment.

Yeah, I will probably get Wierd on that one too....

I have moved On as I announced , and things are going as planned .... but when I stop in and see a Special Request from an old friend/member who is not getting anywhere with his post, I will surely try and come to the fore- front.
But I am certainly not to be referred to as wierd for my considerate time and aide.

That is one of the problems with some of the jerks that post here....

Been there.

Sometimes it's good to move on, get the cobwebs out and leave the frustration of those who don't appreciate the investment in free advice for others.

There should be a respect, decorum, for those who contribute regularly, and for the advice of those who are not willing to guess or make claims without the knowledge an/or data to back it up, for those who simply enjoy fixing problems for the satisfaction of helping someone else enjoy, ... but there isn't.

But call on me if there's ever anything I can do to help Arthur, ... I know your type.

Danke,
So true...
I am still amazed on how I lasted the 10 years....many Frustrations , but seldom were any of those attributed to Diagnosing/Solving the posters problems .............

No big deal.

You missed the whole concept of his Request and my responce to that exception/request.
Nothing to do with me moving on.

and having read every post you have ever answered, you don't post a diagnosis cuz you can't. That is what the CDs and Archieves are for ...guys like you.

I rest my case.
