$70.98 "O" Ring?

Had a leak in the ABC Hydraulic pressure controller . Was the "O" Ring on the pressure sensor. The repair kit is a A220 320 11 58 . It contains a green "o" ring and a metal guide to install the "O" ring. How the hell can they justify $70.98 for that?

That number is for the ABC system pressure sensor kit (includes sensor). MB suggested list is $65.

Well, now that you have one, you have an opportunity, assuming that this is a common failure.

1. Source identical o-ring (color may mean nitrile, or maybe Viton?)

2. Make a similar tool.

3. Write up repair instructions w/pictures.

4. Sell at 3/4 MB price.

5. Profit!!!!!

:)

What a rip !

Good job!
Can you explain further the use of the tape and to which 'thread' are you referring?
Did you use/keep the old sensor and is 'that' the 'thread' you are talking about? I'm unable to picture the application.

Thanks.

I put the tape over the threads on the sensor so they wouldnt damage the o ring. Yes.. used old sensor and everything. The sensor was loose and that is probly why the original o ring blew..

I'll say it again. Good job and great thinking!

One more question...was your car diagnosed at the dealer or an independant or by yourself?
