NSS? and blower operation

Can a faulty NSS cause the blower not to come on? This morning I went to start my 420sel, and it would only start in neutral. This hasn't happened in a year, and last time it was a bushing on the shift linkage. After the car started, the CCU starting clicking a few times and then didn't do it again. I drove the car until 80C, then I tried to fire up the heater. Nothing. Eventually I could feel heat at the vents, but nothing blew out, and it was seemingly blowing on low at the windshield vents. After freezing for 15 miles, I stopped at a gas station. When I went to start it up, it started in park and the heater worked again as normal. I don't know if its a CCU problem, or a NSS problem.

It must be a coincidence, I do not think the NSS circuit has anything to do with the blower motor circuit.

Notes:
Check for solder joints at the temp control module and/or the fan brushes are worn out

Check the fuse link near the drivers side strut tower...

Checked that fuse. Good. I had that problem last year with a hairline crack in it so it operated intermittently. I suppose I will buy a junkyard CCU unit this weekend to test mine.

The fuse at the Tower is the blower load fuse, but there is another fuse in the fuse box that feeds the CP...check that one too...I don't have that schematic up, but it will say "Blower" in the fuse Index map..
