E55 or E320 CDi?
 

Strange question I know. My dad is buying a new car and is looking at a '99 E55, or a '01 320CDi.
He currently owns a '93 500SE.
Please can someone give me some arguments in favour of the 55 other than just raw power and speed.
The cars cost the same amount.

Please help!! I want E55!!!

suggest this strategy to maximize efficiency:

appears that it would be appropriate for whomever is going to utilize the incoming vehicle to determine the essential elements needed and/or wanted from the car, then compare it to the possibilities (E55/CDI/etc.).... the vehicle candidate meeting the target or closest to the target - - is a logical choice

if a clear choice is not apparent then weighing the positives/negatives & costs/ benefits of the vehicles to each other may surface the best available choice

finally, applying personal preference given all this research,info, and analysis is an certain eventuality

otherwise, this type of discussion appears to be a broad general leap into personal preferences on vehicle characteristics
