because in my counrty i cant get the car with 2.0L ..........stupid rules for coupe http://www.benzworld.org/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif and then i can ship the original engine 2.0L later on seperatly ..the question is is possible to swap the engine or not ?

Maybe this is possible

It might be easier to swap your goverment out - get a few friends to help and vote the jerks out of office. Then you wouldn't have to mess with the iron.

Well, If I were going through all that trouble I would get a CLK 500 from the US and then swap in the 1.6 while the 5L is in route. Does the 1.6 have to start for smuggling event :D.

Geez, what country is that?

I don't know if your plan will work. They're probably going to look up the car via the VIN, and if they do it will say 2L engine no matter what you actually have in there.

they wont look up the VIN ...all they 'll check is the engine code which refers to the capacity of the car .....the first three digits normally refers to the capacity of the engine ...thats why i need to swap the engine with my tearssssssssssssssssss......and the engine must be longitudinal (alignment) as clk

Suspect you'll need the ECU from both cars and lots of re-programming using SDS.
