Track day readying W126
I'm getting my Euro 380SE ready for a Spring-thaw track day and am trying to get information regarding front end camber adjustment values.
My question is: Huw much negative camber will I be able to dial in on the front eccentrics? I'm shooting for 2 degrees negative camber in the front.. Is the rear adjustable at all? I'd like to see atleast 1 degree negative. Input please!!!! |
no help from me, but pics please :)

I doubt you will achieve 2 degrees negative on the front but it won't hurt to try. One is all I could get on my 123 and I imagine the 126 is pretty similar.
On the 123 chassis and again, I think the 126 is pretty similar, there is no adjustment available on camber from the factory. The only way to get more negative camber is to lower it. |
14" bundts will make it handle
I don't know about the camber but, If you have the 14" bundts and you want an advantage on the track ,do what I did , I put 225-60-14 pirelli's on my euro 500 and what a difference, It handled much better as it was lower and had a signifigant 0-60 mph improvement but the engine reved way to high, about 3200 rpm's at 65 MPH on the way to the track.

Doesn't this car have lower control arm eccentric adjustment bolts? There is a listing for them in the MB parts directory. They are cammed bolts that if you turn them they will jut the lower side of the wheel out and tilt the upper tire inwards. The only cars that I know cannot be adjusted without camber plates are my Audi 200/5000TQ and S4's. My track day cabby runs 2.25* neg camber in the front and shimmed out rears 1.2* neg. I will try to come close to 2* neg on the front camber adjusters especially fitting 17" track wheels and tires to it. I do have bundts but pretty much just store them, aswell as the 15 hole 15" wheels.
Johnhef... I'll take pics as soo as she's done... She joins 2 other W126 380's |
