4.2 Liter Timing Chain Questions

After having read some of the recent posts on the propensity of the 4.2 liter timing chain to break, I'm wondering if at 104K and a full documented history of synthetic oil and loving dealer service I should have it changed to prevent a possible catastrophe? What is the cost for the replacement before it snaps? Any BTDT's appreciated

Doesn't MB recommend a timing chain replacement on all V8's after 100k? I would change it - but try and find someone reasonable as it isn't that urgent.

CS, our 420S jumped timing and bent valves without any warning on a cold startup (probably had experienced some backward rotation upon shutdown the night before causing the chain to loosen up on the sprockets since the tensioner is on the other side of the engine). If the car is in good shape and you plan to maintain it, then by all means get the chain taken care of soon. Find someone that knows how, has done several and will explain to you the procedure they use.
